Minimal: oak table, black chairs, one linear light
What changed The carved table to a plain oak slab, the eight high-backed chairs to six black ones, the chandelier to a single linear pendant, the sconces gone, the Persian rug to a flat grey wool one. The render also removed the sideboard, which the sentence did not ask for. The window, curtains and floor are the owner's.
Why it works This is what most people mean by a modern dining room: fewer things, each one plain. The single linear light over the table is the move that does the most — it replaces a chandelier and two sconces with one line and instantly reads as current. Oak and black is the safest modern pairing because it goes with any floor and any curtain, including these olive ones.
The sentence that made it
“Redesign this as a minimalist modern dining room: a long light oak dining table, black upholstered chairs, a single black linear pendant instead of the chandelier, white walls with no sconces, and a plain wool rug. Keep the window, curtains and floor where they are.”
