Warm greige
What changed The far wall and both side walls from white to greige; the short return nearest the camera stayed white in the render. Ceiling, skirting, floor, sofa and curtains stayed.
Why it works Greige is the most popular living room colour of the decade for a reason: it is warmer than grey, cleaner than beige, and it makes white trim and a white ceiling look crisp instead of clinical. On a grey sofa and an oak floor it disappears in the best way. If you want the room to look finished and cannot say why, this is the colour.
Two coats, one weekend The sentence that made it
“Paint every wall in this living room, including the wall on the left nearest the camera, the far wall behind the coffee table and the wall on the right with the curtains, a warm greige, a soft grey-beige. Keep the ceiling white, and keep the sofa, coffee table, rug, floor, ceiling lights and curtains exactly as they are.”
